How to view and manage website financing leads

Dealer Inspire’s financing tools — including Shop By Payment and Online Shopper — allow shoppers to explore payments, get prequalified, or submit full credit applications directly from your website. These leads flow into your CRM, Dealer Inspire’s Automatic platform, and (for full applications) your dealership’s credit application system.

In this article, you’ll learn how to locate and manage financing leads in your CRM, view full application details in Automatic, and access hard-pull credit applications in RouteOne or Dealertrack.

1 Viewing leads in your CRM

Financing leads from Dealer Inspire are routed to the same CRM addresses that receive your other website leads. Each financing lead includes:

  • Shopper name and contact information
  • Vehicle of interest (year, make, model, stock number)
  • Lead sub-source (Finance Intent, Prequalified, or Credit Application)
  • Secure link to the full application in Automatic

To identify financing-related leads, look for these sub-sources in your CRM:

  • Dealer Inspire Finance Intent
  • Dealer Inspire Prequalified
  • Dealer Inspire Credit Application

Tip: Set up CRM filters or tags for these sub-sources to prioritize finance-ready shoppers and track lead performance from your financing tools.

2 Viewing & managing leads in Automatic

Automatic is Cars Commerce’s dealer-facing platform for managing financing applications, Online Shopper deals, and customer conversations. Access it at automatic.dealerinspire.com.

The Deals page shows all your leads. From this page, you can:

  1. Search for a lead.
  2. Filter leads by Financing Status, Lead Source, Days, or Deal Status.
  1. Sort by Activity, Newest/Oldest Customers, and Lead Source.
  1. Get a Quick Look at customer info, Garage, and activity.
  1. Assign or Unassign a customer to yourself or another user.
  2. Go to the Customer’s Garage, where you can review application details.

3 Reviewing applications in Automatic

You can access full application details in Automatic by:

  • Clicking the secure link included in the CRM lead, or
  • Selecting the customer from the Deals page to open their Garage

Each application includes:

  • Shopper information: Name, contact details, address, employment, and income
  • Vehicle details: VIN and vehicle applied for
  • Financing preferences: Loan term, down payment, trade-in info
  • Prequalification status: Offers received and participating lenders
  • Lender offers: Estimated rates and terms if prequalified

From the application details page, you can:

  • Message the shopper via text or email using Dealer Inspire’s messaging platform (Conversations)
  • Work the deal by adjusting price, terms, trade-in value, and protection products to personalize the offer

4 Viewing applications in RouteOne or Dealertrack

When a shopper completes a full credit application (triggering a hard credit pull), the application is automatically routed to RouteOne or Dealertrack based on your dealership’s Credit Application Network (CAN) setup.

These applications contain:

  • Complete shopper financial data
  • Credit bureau info from the hard pull
  • Lender decisions and offers
  • Deal structure and vehicle details

Note: Only applicable to dealers with RouteOne or Dealertrack integration. This integration is included with Shop By Payment or available as a $99/month add-on for other Dealer Inspire configurations.
